I want to get back into writing blogposts, I've had a lot on my mind lately and I enjoy reading other people's blogs as well.
So what's been going on- Alright, So I'm in English 1 class in college, and if you're wondering what stuff is currently like in an ultra-red state during 2026, my entire class is pretty much AI slop? I should note I'm taking this class online, so I assume it might be different in person, but I've talked to a lot of other people and I'm pretty sure my experience isn't normal?
So…You are allowed to use AI in this writing class, and while you do have to disclose it, I already went in knowing people would use AI without disclosing it so seeing that its encouraged its discouraging for people like me, who dont want to cheat.
I also almost certain my teacher's feedback on my essays is AI, which is frustrating but not the first time this has happened so I kind of expected it. There's also disclaimers that some of my assignment's directions are written with AI-- I guess they have to disclose that so that's nice?
Most frustratingly, one of my recent assignments was that I had to 'debate with chatgpt', Of course if you're not comfortable they said there was an alternative which I chose, but it's just fucking frusterating?
Besides the AI stuff, It's...Fine I guess? There's a lot of oddities but I can't tell what's normal or not.
English is a subject I care about a lot, so I was looking forward to actually improving but damn am iiii checked out. I'm getting that A but I don't feel great about it. I'm kind of bummed and have been practicing my writing and prose in private, which is not going to ever show in these more 'stream of conscious' blogs
Hopefully the rest of my blog posts aren’t as negative.

I’ll try to update this site more but I’ve been busy coding something special, plus I’m probably gonna revamp the look a bit because I’ve changed a lot the past 4 months- I’ve completely switched majors and light colored friendly stuff doesn’t bring my troubled soul much comfort.
